Default MUST HAVE!!! for all track junkies and DIY-ers.

I was searching around for a breaker bar and tie-down solution for a good GT3 customer of mine. Check this website out!! Very cool products. Will work for all centerlock wheels (GT3, GT2, Turbo). The breaker bar is 4 piece unit that will break down and fit in the front trunk. The center lock tie down kit is very trick too. Very cool guys at 3R. Check them out!!!! www.3Rauto.com

I really like their real removal tool, but the torque wrench works great as breaker bar and I don't see myself removing wheel nuts to strap my car down?

My dealer's parts dept. is looking for a good breaker bar that would disassemble and fit in the trunk -- much like this......they told me I needed it. ?????

Trakcar and Mooty: how are you using the torque wrench as a breaker bar? I thought that was bad for the wrench measurement accuracy......and what wrench are you using if you don't mind? Teach me.........my dealer is MIA. Thanks.

The torque wrench is Bi-something. I forget, but it means you can torque both ways ;-) Hehe..
If you want to play it safe, just break in the clicking direction and keep pushing until it breaks lose.

You do need a kaboutertje, uhh, I mean gnome to push the break pedal. If not available you will have to ask the wife. In my case that goes over about as well as asking her to drive to Sebring 2 hours to bring extra tires.. Did I mention no more track days this year for me...?

Wow! Pricey. I only paid $300 for my 48" long 3-piece 600 ft-lb torque wrench that came with a hard case that fits nicely in my GT3's trunk. Bottom line, just buy the torque wrench; even if you buy a breaker bar you will need it anyways.

I use it by pushing in front of the actual torque wrench piece (since it is a multi-piece torque wrench), so there is no force on the actual torque wrench part. Now I don't know if i will still be able to do it once my bolts are torqued up to 600Nm. For 500 it is not an issue.

Their breaker bar looks clumsy compared to the Porsche tool:

The tie-down lug looks cool. Helluva a tedious operation to raise and lower the car to re-torque wheel nuts just to trailer the car. Still appealing. I wonder if they've reproduced the complex design of the factory nut or just created a single piece cone section ... either way, it raises questions of grease on the wheel and the tie-down nut, keeping everything clean and square and properly torqued, avoiding galling the surface of the wheel on the working surfaces, etc.

I bought the breaker bar from 3R pictured here. It's extremely well built and very well designed. It comes in a heavy duty vinyl carry bag, so it won't scratch up anything in the trunk and it keeps it from rattling and banging around. Big thumbs up! Just wish there was a way of getting my lightweight jack handle and torque wrench to use the same extension tubes. That would be trick!
