Default New Air Box

Stills needs parts to be added and quite a bit of machining for actuators for dual resonance flaps, but making progress. Saves over 10 pounds in rear and high up.

WHOA. Any issues with CF in all that heat atop the engine? Wonder if the flow properties are identical to the OEM part?

Given the material we are using there will be no heat problems as there were none for the air boxes we made for Porsche AG for the 996 RSR and 997 RSR. Flow will actually be a bit better as interior surface quality better than that of the cast metal.

That part does not see much heat. After coming off the track with my 993, I could touch the metal intake plenum (Varioram) and it was cold to the touch.

Beautiful work as usual Bob... anything like this for the Alpina/8? (AKA Norcal)

Nothing like this for Z8 - would not make much of a difference. For Porsche, however, 10 rear, high up pounds are significant.
