Default Anyone try race headers and decat?

Just wanted to check if anyone tried to install race headers with no cats.

How was it? Did you lose low end but gained top end?

In my side of the woods I don't need cats.

Thanks!

My GT2 is running this setup ,

The sound is awsome , No drone whatsoever , slightly louder than stock at idle , cruising speeds the sound is like stock, then when it hits full bost it screams like its out of this world...

It is even louder than a cup car on my home tracks straight!!!

TTurbine - did you decat? If so, how long were the spacers you used for the 02 sensors? 5"? L shaped?

if your gt2 were n/a, it would be twice as loud.
exhausts like this are great for some fun, but they grow old on your
ears pretty quickly, especially if you suffer from tinnitus ( if you don't, you soon will)

I ordered the straight pipes "Test pipes" from car graphic along with an upgraded ECU.

Evreything else was un touched and left stock..

Turbo's are much quieter than a natural aspirated car with straight thru exhaust.

I tried muffler bypasses on my 6 GT3. A friend had them on a C4S and sounded great but with the high compression on GT cars, noise is much more obnoxious. Also made the car hard to drive normally in traffic, in town, near a cop, etc.

Interesting conversation and I can tell you this... you need to manipulate what the ECU is calling/looking for. Not easy nor is it always possible to do. It's reading the back pressure/heat values at the 02 and when you change/move etc.. the heat ranges do as well. The engine is tuned for a certain back pressure so you not only need to find the correct tables but then try to manipulate the heat ranges/values... You will loose TQ/hp and it'll run in a safe-like mode because of the big change in back pressure And it'll be bloody loud...
