Should one expect any sort of discount when buying new? If so, how much? I see a west coast dealer offering a discount, but i can't find the same on the east coast.

I really wanted a Trailex 8045 too...
Couldn't find any used so I called Carl @ Trailex.
Long story short, Carl said they are currently having a sale on all their trailers and in addition would also throw in an aluminum wheel upgrade. Got a nice price quote so I placed my order.... for a new Trailex 80180 enclosed!! Doh! I upsold myself
Taking delivery in April. Excited. In the end, my wallet took a hit but I'll have more peace of mind when parking the trailer at hotels, and some shelter from the elements during tracks days will be nice.
BTW, the sale applies to new 8045's as well so easy to justify buying new over used.

^ you will be very happy over the long run.
if you want to buy a 10k trailer, pls do yourself a favor and spend 15k. b/c if you dont, in a year or two, you will sell the 10k trailer and buy a 20k trailer and lose on dep'n. i speak from EXPERIENCE.
but 2x more than what you think you need. then you will be about right.
buy 4x more than you think you will need, it will be perfect.
i went from 20' to 24' in 3 months, both brand new. now i want a 48'.
i think i should just save money and get a semi that can carry 4 cars ;-)
but the point is, get the best trailer you can get. you will not be sorry.

Last season I started out with an ATC trailer:
And then went to a Trailex 8045:
I now know first hand why Trailex trailers are so popular.
No matter how you slice it.... IMO, you get what you pay for.
BTW heed what Mooty is saying... I'm starting to think covered Trailex..

The 911 reference must be to older cars...
I can't imagine a narrower trailer for my GT3, it's relatively snug with the 8045.
you won't regret extra width with your GT3.

I like flat bed style trailers because they can be used for other things too... Toys, Furniture, Golf cart, etc... I have a HEAVY Steel Flat bed that needs upgraded to a Feather LiKe style like PJ... Or even enclosed but I tried the Big SUV route and that wasn't for me.

My FeatherLite dealer here has a 2003 basic trailer that will fit the GT3, electric brakes, plain, no tire rack, steel wheels, no winch, removable fenders, etc... They want $3500 for it. For the amount of times I'm going to use it, I don't want to spend $7-9K on a perfect Trailex at this moment in time. If I decide to go after this one, what is a reasonable price? I don't know what the market commands for a used 2003 Featherlite.
