(a Porsche salesman once remarked, when asked about safety ... "as safe as they come")

thoughts?
Are you implying that a car does not handle and it's not safe on the basis of a blatant reckless accident?

Nope.

Just want to collect opinions on how good (or perhaps marginal) it does handle and how safe (or unsafe) it really is

Not too many GT3 owners I know so this is more of a curiosity

Any moron can crash any car. Maybe you should instead focus on this fact in the report, rather than on the car itself...

"one-car accident that took place in West Goshen, Pa. around 3:30 AM Monday morning" Don't the bars close at 2 AM in PA? Just sayin!

I think everyone misinterpreted my question.

This was more a chance to respond to the news report with your opinions

Since this is causing such a ruckus I'll remove it

You're kidding right? This accident just goes to show you that any drunk fool can crash a car. 24C is spot on.

Geez...

Poor judgement, lack of ability or driver impairment can easily overcome the capable handling traits of any automobile.

Fatal accidents are the trademark of mishandling alcohol.
