Sport Buckets -> Sport Seats? Answer?
I've looked all over but I still haven't seen any conclusive information. If I buy GT3 Sport Seats (manual height and slide with power seatback) can I simply replace the Sport Buckets that are fitted to most .2 RS cars?

I simply don't fit in the Sport Buckets or cars fitted with them as they are too narrow and too high.

Yes, you can. The main wiring harness to power the sport seat is the same as the harness that powers the airbags and seat occupancy detector in the sport buckets. What you CANNOT do, is swap in a sport heated seat and expect the heating element to work. I had a discussion a short while back with some of the other members on this forum to doing the same thing on a spyder. If you have sport buckets for sale, please let me know because I would be interested in buying them.

Thank you VERY much. I was thinking of buying these and simply hanging on to them until I find an RS...so not Sport Buckets YET;-)

If Trakcar or I can fit our azzes in the Sport Buckets most anyone that ownes a 997 can. They can be lowered some with some aftermarket custom mods.

You need a different car that you can get a custom seat into for the track...I'm not sure a Porsche is the correct fit for you.
I have Sport Seats (not the buckets for a harness) in the red car pictured in my signature below. They are very comfortable but I do not believe a guy your size will even fit into those.

I'm having Gavin at Auto Quest in Ft. Myers install my roll bar and do the seat mod. Trakcar and Jenks12 have there seats modded by C2 in Tampa but he willnot say what he did other than install an insert...thicker washer on the front 2 bolts to give the seat some tilt back. I sat in both these guys cars and Jenks seat does seem lower somehow but C2 will not say what they did...matter of fact he could not even remember what he did, told me he'd check on it said it would be $1000 to mod and he'd get back to me...I never heard a word and I'm not paying 1k for 2 washers!.... so I'm having Gavin at Auto Quest fix me up.

Yep you're not gonna fit...I'm 6'5" 240 and 38 pants waist loose...thought I was about the biggest I've seen in a Porsche.

Doesn't cobra make race in plus sizes for bigger kids?
Check out the S models. They're 2" wider than their standard seats.

I think this is the direction I'm going. Regular size though. I refuse to pay Porsche's price for these seats. 6GT3 were less than 2500 a pair less than 2 years ago. Now they're 4500. Pure margin.

Like I said eariler I believe a Porsche is the wrong sized car for you. Even at my size...tall but leaner I never fit into a Porsche really unil the 997 car.
Best of luck...
