The cup one is fine indeed, sadly they opted for the "self-correcting" version..

All internal...no issues. 9a1 engine fixed a lot of those issues

Love driving the current GT3 6 speed, but am intrigued with the idea of the next gen GT3 having PDK. I know that is sacrilege, but I'm a fan of PDK and think it would be a blast on the track.

No, it's entirely different. The Cup uses an electric motor to turn a hydraulic pump. But the steering is hydraulic.

The 991 uses an electric motor to move the steering rack (no hydraulics of any kind).

I REALLY hope the 991 GT3 uses this Hybrid electric/hydraulic setup from the Cup, instead of the fully electric system from the 991 Carrera.

All this 991 gt3 speculation is all Porsche's fault. They haven't given us ANYTHING to go on. All they've given us is the 991S and how amazing it is, but also how threatening it is to a lot of the purists. But, the current platform/chassis has been in use for 12 years. So imagine, 12 years of Motorsports development, testing, feedback, and of course money, all that is going into the new car. So, yes, the 991 will probably unbelievable. We just need to know something about it!!!!

too bad they can not make it look any better than a mini panamera. Wings and inlets and canards will hardly help....

I believe when the 4.0 RS was announce Andreas Preunigner the GT car manager stated that this would be the last car to use the Mezger block etc, which "suggests" that the next gen car will be derived from the 9A1...

I have no doubt they'll be able to beat its objective performance (acceleration, Vmax, N'Ring laptime), but I worry about whether they'll beat it from a subjective (engaging and fun-to-drive) basis.

If the 991 RS is not offered without PDK as an option I'll pass. I'm looking for 525-550 HP, more than a 4.0L engine and a PDK option.

We will see.

It will be at least 500hp, but maybe not 525hp and I do expect PDK on the RS.
