Hey skxf, that answers my question perfectly... The narrow setting gives enough steering wheel input and through the windscreen view to satisfy me for DE days... I'm going to snap one up tomorrow!

Thanx so so so so much for going to the trouble of filming the various settings and posting!

+1 for GoPro!! R3 bar mounted is my favorite... A Great learning tool!

On a side note, what program do folks like to use to edit there in-car videos with? User friendly but robust enough to handle file size?

Windows movie maker is free and quite effective I've found. I used it for all the vids I've posted on yt

Ps - "if you go down to the woods" is my GoPro and mount test vid that turned out quite funny

Has nobody used the external mic input? I now have both old and new models. That is what I really was waiting for. I'm so sick of all the wind noise, especially when mounted on the exterior of the car. Anyone??? BTW: haven't tried it myself yet

I have tried it with two different mics and a mix of positions not found a happy answer yet. I suspect it is the cheap mics (tried to find one better and failed). The mics were either too low or there was too much noise. I am looking for a better mic and let folks know of the results.

I should add getting the skeleton case is a must.

Hey guys, picked up my gopro and need to head out for a drive on the weekend to get a good feel for it... Quite easy to set up. Just a quick question about positioning, how do you guys set the position of the camera for framing considering it doesn't have a screen? I've got the positioning perfect tonight, mounted on rear screen in medium FOV and will have to play with tilt slightly if its too bright but have left it in the car to save another hour of setup...Any ideas? or pony up for an lcd screen?

If you run an inline variable attenuator for the mic, you can adjust the volume so that it doesn't distort. I bought one from Radio Shack for a few dollars <$10.

Farz, bring your setup to the next gtg. I now have 4 go pro's plus others, total of 7 video cameras. Next ETD should be very entertaining.

Thanks! I wish I was a better driver though so the videos would be more exciting

I rarely get out to the GTG, but if you let me know which one you're going to through PM, I can show up for that one. Otherwise, we can meet at our usual spot, TMP.
