Default Sharkwerks track exhaust?

I met a guy at the track recently with a GT3 and a recently installed Sharkwerks track exhaust. Too loud for him and he was interested in trading for my RSS X-pipe. He did not have the car with him at the track.

I like my X-pipe...but the track exhaust is tempting. My car is pretty much exclusively used on the track.

Any strong impressions either way from those with the track exhaust? I guess my biggest concern would be excess noise in the cabin, also sound restrictions at tracks up north....which I plan to try to visit sometime this year.

It is a great system as it is like the Porsche Supercup pipes but with "mini" mufflers in place to help keep the car domesticated on and off the track.

These pipes are lightweight and simple. Tonnes of fun.

But if you decide to hit other tracks, chances are they have noise restrictions which will leave you screwed.
Even the RSS X pipes will have a hard time at some tracks.

Sharkwerks offer a special set of tips for their center bi-pass system which is a nice feature for those pesky noise restricted tracks.

Look into finding a sharky bi-pass and have the special tips on the stash is my suggestion.

IF, you are like me however, i have both a Sharky bi-pass for everyday and a track exhaust for every other day.... I have a ramp in my garage and swap between the two when need be.

The GT3 with a track exhaust is bliss... Windows down, Helmet on, you can hear the car without monitoring the RPM gauge.

I've had my track exhaust almost a year now. Definitely much louder then the bypass, much more noise in the cabin and some drone. Feels like your ears are bleeding when an instructor has a microphone to chat while driving because the mic just amplifies all the noise right into your ear. Dumps plenty of weight from the rear end though. I'm looking to go back to stock, so if anyone is interested shoot me a PM.

I have driven 7000 track miles with sharky track

It drones bad

Car vibrates

Works great on track, but loud at low rpm

The side mufflers are crazy dead weight, not sure why anyone keeps them. They just crack from heat. Center bypass is pointless to me

the top end is heaven, but the bottom end is hell.
if you track the car, you will absolutely love it.
if you street the car, then i advise you drive after midnight when there's not much traffic around and you get clear runs without having to stop at traffic lights.

I'm terrified to look in my rear view mirror after every time I get on the gas! Our county cops love giving equipment tickets.

A EVOMS tune will help with getting back some of the low end, but not all. Like others have said great on the track above 3500 rpm makes good power w/ ecu tune. Big weight savings too. I have used one on my 3.8L RS and it worked like a champ. I am going to take the system off for this season in order to run the car in a slower Time Trial class. I need to add the weight and make less power to make it work.

some here - toronto is bad for these kinda tickets. But I must admit im very interested in hearing what peoples have to say about dropping the side mufflers as they are a massive amount of dead weight.

having the side mufflers seems to be good for some low down backpressure and noise resonance but if your on track driving WOT with the revs up then whats the point of carrying all that extra weight?

These two threads had a bunch of info on this

Fabspeed side delete with stock center

Cup side with block off plate and stock center

Quicksilver

Tubi side delete with stock center

Supersprint

Maybe a few more

Side mufflers have to go. They are giant heat sinks......no cups run them
