Track history for wheels
Does anyone know the track history of the following wheels? They are an off brand. They look stought but as Dell put it...... Get the wheels track record before they go on the track.

Right now I'm running the stock 997-3 wheels and looking for a dedicated track wheel.
Thanks!
Tim

Consider buying a known brand (new or used) IMHO
For many reasons - service, resale, earned reputation etc
Strong light cheap - pick any 2 :-)
The inexpensive OZ (allegrita?) that TR sells are likely the best bang for the buck track wheel

Buy something known... They are likely just cheap copies... The advert says he can exchange color or offset. They are unlikely to be his personal wheels if thats the case, he's likely to be a vendor selling without proper membership...

Those wheels look like the wheels Fast Forward aka. Wheel Dynamics sells. I would stay away from those.

Tim, just to follow-up our chat last night about the wheels........
It seems that most all agree, stay with the PROVEN lines of wheels.
I have run everything from BBS E88's to Fikse Profil wheels and in-between. The best bang for the buck I have found is the OZ wheels. The OZ Ultraleggera HLT wheels are a tremendous bang for the buck and run by many of the guys here with great performance. You can't go wrong with the them.

+1 for Jeff at Pacfic Western Performance for your Forgeline wheels. My next set will be Forgeline...Jeff has awesome deals on Forgeline.
I'm currently running the HLT OZ wheels....zero issues perfect fit....they are cast but mot typical cast wheel...very strong a little lighter than regualr cast and only around $2600. Damon at Tire Rack is your hook up for those.

If you have five lug wheels, why would even consider anything but CCW for track? Nothing else compares for the price, durability, and fit. I like the OZ (had them on my last car) but the front's for my current car were an 8.5 vs the optimum 9". But for the whole centerlock nonsense, I guarantee just about everyone on here would be running CCW track wheels if they actually made a CL set.
CCW ftw.
CCW ftw.

it was told somewhere that CCW stopped carving new wheels for p-cars, so, you would be restricted to used market only. from what i know only CCW and forgeline (imho) had 18" rims with 9" wide fronts.
somebody posted before about CCW 18" wheels that were 9.5" wide and were fitting fine into NB GT3 front axle, but i'm not 100% sure about that.
anyway, i am under quite strong opinion that 997 car does not turn in properly unless you run at least 255 tire in front, and going wider 265 or 275 just makes it better. that means 9" or 9.5" wide front wheel.
for rear tire 315 is probably the best on a 12" or 11.5" rim. so, look up what rubber still exists in such sizes and then shop for wheels to make it fit.
