Pagid 8004 - "problem" solved
Or a second or two on a grinder

This is a non issue

I've run them on my RS and really like them. They hold up well, deal with heat as well as stock steel units if not better. Agree with PJS - the size is a non-issue, any reputable shop can touch the forward section with a grinder and you're good to go - any stock or Pagid compound will work.

That is not related.

In a 997.2 GT3 you could try installing Pagid U2707 and U8004 on the front. Both fit the calipers perfectly. The first one however will overlap the inside of the brake disk. Second one is a perfect fit.

Performance Friction, same story. Pad used for their disk is not the same as the PFC pad used for the OEM disk. No change in calipers.
Pfc oem and non oem is same pad

Not if you use the dimpled rotors it isn't.

I had Giro disc on the front of both my 996 & 997.2 GT3's and had great luck with them as far as longevity and stopping power goes. I also used Pagid pads on both cars, I'd recommend them.

We like them! Ran them on our own Cayman S and were very pleased. Nothing but high praise from the customers we have put into Girodiscs as well.

Happy to help anyone out in need!

Cheers

In your opinion is pfc superior in feel or longevity or both or what?

I have run rs29 on brembo type III rotors repeatedly on two cars without issue and good life on my local tracks... The only weak link in my braking system IMHO is the street abs system

I think this is east coast west coast - I don't know anyone out here that runs pfc

I am not close minded to potential alternatives but I don't see a need to switch - if I can out brake the abs system at will repeatedly and avoid it with modulation, then I am not sure how it can be "better"

So Izzone, what rotors are u using the PFC's on? Wonder why ALMOST all pro teams use pagid and win? Just look at who runs pagid for the 24hr races!

Pagid & Endless are both easier on rotors, offers the right "feel" for professional drivers and last long as 08 if not longer. Most professional drivers need modulation and just enough stopping power but where they do not overpower the tires. Endless pads are similar which is why most factory teams still use Pagid or Endless.

There is a different version of the RS19 and 29 which is now supplied to professional teams that last longer than the regular 19 or 29 that most people are familiar with. PFC made some inroads with the revised 08 compound but by that time Pagid and Endless already had better versions of their own materials for the professional teams.

The PFC is a decently long lasting pad for the money with good performance and is good to the backing plates because the material is not hygroscopic and absorb moisture after running. The technology however is nothing special in the market.

I like my GiroDisks. They were a direct fit replacement for the PCCB’s. The experience I would like to share is my front Giro’s did warp at 600 miles – 600 street miles with no track days. Giro did offer to turn them. However that would have meant shipping them back so I had them turned locally by a trusted wheel shop. I have about 4,000 miles and 4 track days on them now. They feel great. Never did figure out why they warped. I know it was not over torque as I am very precise with that.
