Smile Ultimate DE Cup at circuit of the Americas

Hey guys

Here is an opportunity to bring rennlisters all over the country together at one track for our first ultimate GT DE cup at the new F1 circuit of the Americas aka COTA. As previous thread pointed out MVP is looking at hosting a 3 days event in mid March and BMW/PCA club may also have a 3 days event a week later. We have some time to take a look at the possible track events and pick the best venue to bring all of us together factor in club rules, run groups and time on track etc. Some professional driver such as Seth Thomas has offer to coach for those that are interested

As a show of hands we would like to see how many of you are interested in coming - enter your intention in the poll. Many of us need to make decision before end of year so we can plan our vacation and time off work accordingly. This thread will be a good place to discuss travel plan, car transport options/logistic, caravan, track organization options, rules of engagement and post track day get together etc.

Potential track events:

MVP http://www.mvptracktime.com/

Dates: March 15-17, 2013 for three days, or March 16-17, 2013 for two days
Cost: $600-$650 Saturday & Sunday, or $750-$850 Friday-Saturday-Sunday
Run groups: potential 4 run groups with total track time of 2 hours per day

Contact Mark at Feffman@yahoo.com or Feffman@MVPTrackTime.com and get on the rennlist prefer list. They can accomodate 135 participants and so far more than 140 people express interest for the event

Advance group allow passing through SOME of the turns but point by is still mandatory. They have no idea at this time which turns they are going to allow passing since no one has driven the track

Fast straights with elevation changes and challenge corners will reward high HP cars with stable cornering capability. Will watch the F1 race intently and play plenty of simulation game to learn the track.

If I have to drive to Texas on street tires I'd love to drive this track.

guys after driving this track myself in our grand-am car I can assure you that it will be an unforgettable, and incredibly challenging experience.

this track in a GT3 or a cup car would be amazing!

be sure that you are prepared because the g-forces will wear you out. VERY high load corners and braking zones.

if you guys remind me I can give you a track guide- although when I drove it there were no brake boards, so judging brake zones was a bit difficult at first.

Definitely interested, but it will depend on transportation options. I normally drive the car to/from the track. I definitely don't want to drive the car to Austin and back.
