Default Call from Porshce re: rear hub recall

FYI- recieved a phone call form Porsche NA two days ago informing me that I need to urgently get my 10 GT3 to the dealer for the rear hub replacement/recall campaign. I was told that I should not drive the car until the replacement has been completed even if only driven on the street. The dealer, unfortunately, has no parts or information as to what is involved. Kind of frustrating that Porsche warns against driving, insists on immediate action yet has nothing in place.

Wow, are you dropping off the car this afternoon for a loaner?

Yes, I am typing while frantically driving there praying both rear wheels don't fall off.

I'll set this up with Hennessy once Porsche gets parts to them. Hennessy has been excellent so far.

Just curious; I have a friend who's a tech at Jim Ellis, which is closer to me.

See Center lock recall thread (sticky at top). This is a known recall, unlikely your wheels are going to fall off. They have to notify everyone the actual fixes start 1/22 (assuming they have the parts).

I know, I was kidding in regards to the wheels falling off. I guess my humor is only funny to me. My frustration lies with Porsche, that they would call with a sense of urgency when in fact they have yet to put in place a process to rectify the known issue.

Because of the aforementioned sticky, I knew exactly what the call was about when the call came in. I even recognized the number before I answered the call.

No worries here. I'll schedule when parts and process are in place. I'd rather not be first at my dealer to have this performed anyway.

(sorry just missed the humor... long week)

My wheel did fall off =)

I have to say it is a very interesting experience to be driving hard and suddenly, I mean like bang, be going sideways at 100 mph.

Would have been a bummer if porsche had called and they did not have the parts yet thus I did not have it fixed when it broke.

It is a bit of an oops.... BTW, we thought you were okay but we were wrong you may crash and die, please bring your car in sometime at your convenience (but not too soon).
