Default Side muffler delete question

For those of you who have done this, are you glad you did? What is the weight savings? Any noticable difference in handling? Thanks for any info.

Very glad, almost 40lbs off the rear. They crack anyways and add more heat back there

If you want to do it, there is 2 ways of doing it. The 'right' way, which gives you power, reduce weight and heat and no headaches and the 'cheap' way, which drops weight, does NOT add power, and is temporary like Mike said.

He knows, as he went down this road, and I'm glad he's happy.

once you do it you will never go back.

Sound is fine especially with the M&M system.

The two ugly side mufflers are just so damn heavy and retain too much heat that common sense will not let you ever use them again.

I still have them under my desk collecting dust along with the center muffler.

Deleting the side muffler only with link pipes and retaining your OEM center muffler is the 'cheap' way to do.
Replacing the system for a exhaust that was designed to run without the side mufflers and is robust enough and with the right diameters and flow to sustein power and torque gains.

on Trakcar's 4.0RS and Trakcar's 3.8RS, we ran the dyno with M&M center and side muffler deleted, and also with the side muffler installed an either the stock center (4.0RS) or the Sharky pipes (3.8RS). The power gains were significant, same day and multiple witnesses, no dyno manipulation, same conditions for everybody, I dynoed my Cayman as well, and Eddie dynoed his 3.8RS.

You will love the additional power, about 4%-5% more power to the wheels.

Keeping the Sharkwerks and deleting the sides will be very loud. Sounds cool, but might be overbearing.

They will throw you in jail in California every time you take the car out. Essentially, you would be removing all the mufflers, running straight pipes with cats, massive loud.

Was there software involved, or was this just from the exhaust?

Was there a dramatic loss in low end from removing the side mufflers, with an increase at the top?

Thanks.
