The new battery was showing 12.3 when I first got it. So it's not sold dead.
The last battery I bought worked fine right out of the box.
Over the past few years, I've noticed that when I first put the key in and turned to the ON position, I'd have to wait a few secs before it would turn over. That delay started to get longer and longer.
I have an appointment to take it to dealer on Tuesday. Hopefully diagnosed easily and not a wild goose chase of changing out part after part.

Porsche OEM Moll batteries are shipped dry. Not only do they need to add the acid prior to putting them into service, they need to charge them as well.
I had to wait nearly two hours when I got my battery replaced under warranty a few weeks ago.
Good luck on your diagnosis.
