Default Yokohama AD-08 R

Just wanted to share you all. I finally got a chance to test out the new AD-08 R which came out at the end of last year. It turned out very grip and good response. I personally think it is better than R888 and Pilot Cup. The lap time was AT LEAST 2 seconds faster than R888 (same condition, set up, etc.) This is the fist time for AD-08R though, will post another review when I track it for the second time.

Good to know. I have AD08 on my M3 and love it. How is the road noise compared to pilot cups?

Definitely interested in hearing more about how these tires are on the track.

I run them on my 996 GT3 and like them a lot. On my car they're MUCH better than PS2's and I prefer them to the Nitto NT01's. Their best attributes are stiff sidewalls that give razor sharp steering response even before they come up to temp, long life (I got 9 weekends out of a set of AD08's and the AD08R's appear to be wearing just as well after 3 weekends). They're not quite as sticky as NT01's, but very close once they get hot and with much better steering response. The downside is that they take several laps to come up to temp in cooler weather, only developing max grip toward the end of a 20-min session. But they're still pretty good in the earlier laps. 36 psi F/ 38 psi R (hot) works best on my car. The noise isn't bad at all (MUCH quieter than NT01) and they do okay on wet roads as long as they have some tread left. If you're looking for a single tire you can drive on the street and also on the track, I don't think there's a better choice than the AD08R.

They don't seem to do any 305, 315 or 325 rubber for the moment from what I could see on their website? Rite???

They don't make size for the RS. The road noise is much quiet compare to the R888 and NT-01. And it is still a little bit quiet than Pilot Cup.
I was running 30 psi Front and 32 psi Rear hot, and it was awesome.

True only 295 in 18 but it is a wide 295 at 11.5" tread width. Perfect replacement for the old AD08 I have on the 6GT3 now.

I'm gonna start emailing Nitto/Yoka/Hankook about making a 325 and/or a 335 tire until they actually do it.

I swear we all wrote to nitto to make correct ratio for rear NB 997 in 18s and I like to believe it worked. Who knows if they really listen cuz at the end they gotta figure out how many they can sell.
