Default Hello from Pittsburgh!

Hi guys! Former Lotus Exige owner here...and occasional track rat. Always wanted a Porsche and it seems as I've finally progressed to a point in my career where that's a possibility. I'm currently looking at 997.1 GT3's, although I've been reading more and more about gt3.2s and turbos. Looking forward to reading more on this forum and sharing some of my (limited) knowledge!

Best,
Colin

Here's a quick video from a Trackcross event at Pittrace. Think of it as a hot lap and auto cross mix.

You wouldn't happen to know Tom ***? Tom is my wife's uncle...he's always raving on about some guy at the Sewickley Porsche that has a GT3 RS. Small world if it is you...haha!

I'm in Pittsburgh as well...just got a .1 gt3 in October. Its a blast, I was looking at .2s as well but couldn't justify the premium. Looking to get it on the track soon as well.

Congrats on the GT3 - car sounds great! Really like the concept of a "trackcross"!! Anymore scheduled this year? Any updates on the completion of the south loop?

Haha - no GT3 just yet...that video is in my Lotus.

The trackcross was something the new ownership of Pittrace (Beaverun) tried last year - I think it's a great idea...gives you a feel for big track experience without the 'risks' of higher speeds. Don't get me wrong, I was still hitting 110+ by the time I came around the back s-bend (turns 5/6/7 I think).

The south track was still under completion last time I checked...I believe they have everything cleared and will begin paving shortly (if they haven't already).

Pittsburgh will always have my heart PIrates, Pigeons and Steelers, Heinz Hall, Pittsburgh Pops
and all the venues for the performing arts that don't exist in South Carolina.
How is the extension at Beaver Run coming along?
Say hi to all the yinzers for me. anat

Beaver run is coming along nicely. they repaved the paddock was repaved, along with the road going to the track. all new garages and restrooms. The south track is configured and just about ready for paving as well.

Ounce done, it's going to be a great complex! and only 20 mins from me
