Default 07 GT3 on the way!

Traded my .1 turbo (tip) for a .1 GT3 today. Never driven a GT3, but I bet it is awesome. Going to miss the turbo, it was a great car. Just ready for a more raw experience. I'm hoping the GT3 will help me forget about the turbo.

It's coming from Colorado to Texas.

You got yourself into the last of 911 manual hotrods! Enjoy!

The sound is awesome. Go for a Sharkwerks bi-pass and you will be in heaven.

Congrats Runner. You're getting the best of both worlds- going from the TT to the GT3 and from a Tip to a MT. You're going to love it. Once you hit 8k rpm you'll forget all about the TT. +1 on the Sharkwerks, just put one on mine and it sounds great.

Do you have any track days lined up yet?

Congratulations Runner! Are you going to drive it back or transport it?

I hear you on the Sharkwerks! I'm all about the sound. Would you prefer this over the BBI exhaust?

For a GT3? BBI likes to do the side delete with stock center muffler. The sharkwerks is a better solution for a daily driver as you still get a pretty quiet solution under 4k rpm. The BBI and other side muffler delete setups are a better setup for track use. BBI can make a center delete pipe similar to a shark, rss, gmg, or any of the others out there if you wanted them to.

congrats. I too came from a 911 turbo (a nicely modified 996). If at first you are not "wowed" by the performance, don't dismay. These things have a very different power delivery curve, and its not like the turbo where there is instant access to torque anywhere along the rpm band. You really have to adjust how you drive these, and keep the revs up. Once I figured that out I never looked back, even after going from my turbo to the less powerful 996 gt3 which preceded my 07. The sound and feel is not even in the same category as a turbo...you are going to be thrilled.

personally, I've never driven a turbo, but when I moved to GT3 from a C2S, I don't think I could ever go back.

you'll love it - enjoy!

Was sold when parked next to a .1 GT3 at the track a few months ago. His story is that he bought it brand new and its been 100% track car since he took delivery. Car has 23,000 miles - all track miles as he travels the nation from track to track. The car remains bone stock 100% and is in tremendous shape.

Another fascinating thing is that he is potentially the best driver out there as he passes new 2014 GT3 and such, but it also says a lot about the equipment he is driving. He equips the car with track tires - that's all. Amazing!!! Can't wait.
