Nice picks, what a car!
I wonder if the cult for the 4.0 will go on and if the 4.0 prices will outperform the Carerra GT prices.
Yes the Carerra GT is the supercar from Porsche but the 4.0 has much lower production numbers and I guess more fans.
Any other thougts about it?

It's just the Bull's running on the GT3 RS 4.0 market, due to recent mishaps in production, and lack thereof a manual transmission for the 991 model GT3.
If you asked me some years back which of the Final Cars would be worth the most I would of said GT2RS. If the mishap on the GT3 engines never have happened could be certain that the prices wouldn't be where they are at today. But further there has been the rise in value over the past 6 to 12 months because the investors/collectors have to put their money. All anyone has to do is look at the Hagery Valuation Tool at the cars that matter and there for sure has been a run on some of the more/most expensive cars i.e. the doubling in value of the McLaren F1 and the trading at auction and privately of the Ferrari F250s, 356 Speedsters and numerous others. That is since gold and other precious metals are staying about the same in value. And I hope not too many of y'all put money in Oil Futures! OPEC said they would keep on pumping at $20 a Barrel. Sorry if any of you guys operate lease's.

Porsche built less than 200 993 Turbo for North America, what's the number on RS 4.0's? I agree the rich are buying up these classics. There rich for a reason. There not stupid.
Cars as we know them are coming to an end. The early cars through 997 GT are special.
None of the new cars do it for me. My money will be spent on the classic driving experience

i have had 993TT, TTS, C2, C2S, C4S. sorry, as much as i love air cooled. they do not comes close stock to stock. i take a 4.0 over a TTS any day.
now if you are talking 993GT2Evo or 993RSCS, i would have a tougher decision, and it's still not a sure bet on the RSCS or GT2Evo. but i will actually take a few minute to think...
i am only talking about how the car feels to me, not as "investment".
but that's just me.
joe B is on the money.
buy what's out there now, fill up the hanger.
the old cars are getting very hard to find. even 997RS are hard. i haven't seen a good RS for less than 175 for along time.
the new cars will wait for you. the old car will be gone.

993rs is very special.
i 'felt' one reverse parking about 20 metres away from me.
that was enough to convince me.
there have been 2 on the market here in recent weeks. they both disappeared in a matter of days.
one was priced at $420k, the other, $440k.

Any sales in your area supporting the current 4 asking prices?

The 4.0 is by far the most complete car I've ever owned or driven! Can't compare it to any of the older classic 911s! The only thing that might hurt value is that so many of them have been bubble wrapped.

RS 4.0 and 991RS are and will be individually distinct....just horses for courses imo.
I don't foresee the market values changing much...unless the Germans decide to produce a 3 pedal version of the 991rs

Prices are result of over elevated market. A ton of desirable used and classic cars in up and in most cases way inflated. Believe me I don't mind in the case of my older bimmers...but they are not quite as crazy as the 4.0 prices. If I owned one it would be impossible for me not to seriously sell it and laugh all the way to the bank...this would be the best flip I have ever had on a car.

Current 991 RSR will be the same in 2015 with the Mezger engine. Its homologated thru the end of 2015. If the 991RS ends up with a newly developed motorsport engine - I wouldn't want to be the owner of a 991GT3.
