Don't want to call it just yet,but it's looking like the new Porsche with warranty to have...

Based on the EVO video it appears Porsche actually listened to the masses and built a manual, mid engine, track focused car at a reasonable price.

love it, hats off to them for pulling through with something that we, the enthusiasts were hoping for. Happy to hear how much is shared with GT3. Can't wait to see what that wing looks like with larger uprights like people did with RS. When can we build one online?

What a nice package. Wouldn't sell my RS for this but could be a nice addition, for drive-to single track days on a whim... and canyon runs.

Car looks nice and sounds sweet at end of video. Nice bark to the engine.

Yeah, I just finished the video. AP certainly bristled at the suggestion that the Cayman is by design / policy made to be a bit slower than the 911 counterparts! LOL Glad to hear that front center grill is functional.

I too was very pleased to see how many of the GT3 parts have been applied to this chassis. He also seemed to suggest that the 385HP number is pretty conservative. GT3 brakes... nice... Would have been nice to see that redline a bit higher (not 9k, but maybe 8.2k-ish)

It would be interesting to see (same driver, same day) how modern a GT3 you'd need to match this car.

Depends on the driver, of course, but it's worth noting that the GT4's projected 'Ring time is 7:40... which is the same as the 997.2 GT3.

Might be redemption for Porsche. Hopefully 18" wheels can be used, assuming the rear hub assembly for the cayman will allow it, unlike the 991. If so, it's icing on the cake.

What's funny, is that Porsche has managed to create a market for a 100K+ Cayman.....

Oh man, Porsche definitely read the market correctly to create this car. In fact, I'd say that they pulled a fast one, in that they built a new 'budget GT3' that isn't even a GT3. Kudos to them, and I bet they sell every last one!

I assume US pricing is still not known, right?

when he said for the "customer who isn't looking to get every last tenth" with regards to the manual....that was another sign pointing toward a 6-spd GT3/RS in the works.

I think for $85k it's a great package! A few things that stands out.

The Good.

*It will probably deliver around 400hp.
*5lug
*MT
*Gt3 brakes and suspension,
*Styling. Aero in the front! Interior looked nice
*Exhaust sound

The Ok,

*7800 redline, was hoping for 8000+
*2950 pounds. Hoping for them to get closer to their goal 2850. Carbon hood, roof. Light weight battery... But probably wanted to keep price down?
*Rear wing looks to small..... Doesn't match the rest of the aero.

But will most likely be in my garage! 😉

If you think Porsche dealers are going to give the same insane 997 GT3 trade in values as before, when they try to buy a GT4, they are going to be sorely mistaken.

The 997 GT3 bubble just burst.

The EVO interview told you everything you needed to know about the foreseable future. NA and 6-spd will be hanging around.
