seduced by an italian
Just thought I'd share. Picked up a 3000 mile Granturismo "MC Sportline" which adds a supposedly lowered stiffer suspension and some carbon tidbits and sportier software. My wife is italian and just kind of suckered me into the purchase. It's most certainly not a car I would have considered on my own. This is a PORTLY car, weighing in at almost 4400lbs, and boy can you feel it. It's big, loafy, heavy, and soft (even in sport mode)....it is the diametric opposite of my GT3.
But.... the car is slowly growing on me.
It manages to hide its weight, and handles suprisingly well even when pushed hard. The sound is intoxicating. Mellow, smooth and loud without managing to be obnoxious somehow, almost a gentleman. It is downright comfortable and easy to drive. The ZF is shockingly good at gear selection, even in auto mode. Got a very usable pair of back seats, fantastic for a baby seat. This is a real plus for me. It's got a real presence, and attracts more gawkers than even my GT3, which is frankly annoying.
One of the oddities (there are many in this car) is the choice of 35 series front and 35 series rear tires. Just put a new set of Michelin PSS on and I am more accustomed to the lower profile rear tires as on all my Porsches. Thoughts?
Perhaps one of the last true Pininfarina designs? We will see.

Beautiful with the lowered suspension and MC Sportline bits. Congrats!
I have quite similar one as a "daily driver", with MC-Shift that's fantastic in my opinion. But, Porsche is my hobby and focus!
These cars are super value now:
Great sound, great looks, great comfort, great space for a daily driver (4 seats and big boot, wow!)
Only things I dislike: Bit too large and heavy, seats not sport enough. Should have more power but then it would be too close to Ferrari (silly brand issue, same with Cayman vs. 911...)
I only drive small cars with bucket seats, and even 911 nowadays is a "big" car for me, so the negatives I point out are not too dramatic irl. Overall very happy!

Very nice. I had a 2012 GranTurismo S Auto for three years and I loved it. Pure theatre. I thought the handling was pretty decent and I didn't really notice the weight. Mine was black with black wheels and it attracted a ton of attention. I'll never forget driving my newborn son home from the hospital in that car.

I was considering an earlier model (09 or 10 I think), but the build quality coming from a top end mercedes was just not there. I also didn't love the ride. Sounded nice and looked great though. I think they have come a good ways in terms of improving the quality and attention to detail, but glad I selected a 997tt instead at the same time.
good luck and enjoy.

Guys, don't marry a full blooded italian woman...look what is slowly happening to my garage which at one point had 3 Porsches. All I gotta say is thank god I got to keep my .1 GT3

Those damn itallians.... I was laughing at the title of the thread since I have been telling everyone that I am having a fling with my hot Italian mistress the Huracan. I traded in my 991 GT3 to give her a whirl and I have to say, she is a lot faster. Still I am a Porsche guy and now hoping to get a 911R to round out my Porsche stable while I have my affair. The Italians sure know how to screw with our minds. ;-)
