You could try this instead of the tire shine. It has dyes in it to restore.

I have been using U shaped Black door edge guard material on my cup lip. It fits perfectly on the entire bottom edge and protects against most impacts. When it is done after 2 to 3 replacements it is usually time for another lip...

I bought a set of 3 cup lips, they are a bit less clearance than the OEM, not to mention, my 7.1 RS is lowered 12cm. The less expensive cup lips have each lasted one 100 mile canyon run, no lie! Since they are less clearance they fold under when entering approaches or speed bumps then the plastic actually splits. My OEM last much, much longer and never ever split, only flexed and scuffed. So I probably spend the same sticking with the OEM cost vs the cheaper cup lips. Also, mine are painted to match my Arctic Silver so I incur addtiional cost as well.

+1 of the plastic dye. I've used it on interior on other cars (old, worn) and on a badly scraped front lip on the gt3. Works magic to hit the exact color compared to paint.

Would guess paint dip is also and easy solution, however more time consuming.

Agree the cup lip (no vents) from FVD ($175ish with RL discount) sits lower than OEM, but more flexible/forgiving and IMO look much cooler on a GT car.
Good luck repairing until you buy another one.

I've bought this one before for my 2007 GT3. Perfect fit.
^^^You splitter repair experimenters need to take heed of what Andrew said. If your time isn't worth anything and you are just playing around, then fine.

For the first few years I bought a new OEM lip from Suncoast about each year or so. Then after going through the repair exercise with different results each time I bought the lip shown by Andrew. IMO it has the same look and durability as the OEM lip.

Either I have learned how to avoid scrapes and removals (backing up steep driveways) or these cheapies are better at withstanding damage. I bought a second lip for a spare a few months ago. Looks like I won't be needing it for awhile.

Might not work on a 7.2, but they fit perfectly on a 7.1 and stay in place.

YMMV

PlastiDip is fast and makes it look looks new- no brainier and easy to respray and fill in at any point.
