I've had to remove a set of PFC 97 as the dust was killing my nice wheels and even effecting the paintwork down the sides of the car. And I wash my car properly on a weekly basis.

I am more a function guy over form....but I have my limits and these pads had to go.

I loved the braking...and I know 97 is an old compound.

Do all PFC have similarly nasty dust?

08 dust bad. all race pads dust bad. RE10 i run dust bad.
I just put the race technologies TS20 back on my 964 and I did 300 miles of
canyon driving and the wheels barely had any film on them. was amazed.
These are good pads. Ok for track use but really an aggressive street pad
with nice cold bite. RE10 are amazing hot. but for street use dust like crazy

I didn't think the PFC's I run dust much at all. I must not be using them enough.

I don't find the dust bad at all (F:08/R:11)...might be good air ducting is dispersing the dust out well...

Thanks for the inut.

I should have qualified more by saying I can cope with lots of dust...IF it washes off easy.

But the 97 dust sets/burns/bakes itself on and ruins paintwork. ...even with me washing the car weekly.

Also...I am on oem drilled discs.....I bet the dust wouldnt be so bad with grooved. Less cheese grater effect.

I ran 97's once on my M3.....most caustic pad I've ever had.

If they got wet, and the wheels weren't washed before they were allowed to dry you were going to have issues with the finish of the wheels.

That was actually the reason I went away from them and switched to other brands for awhile.

However, the newer compounds are much much better in this regard. No race pad is ever going to be friendly to the finish of a wheel but 08's, which I run now, are much more friendly and on-par with most other pads on the market.

97 was an exception, try a different compound PFC and you will be much happier.

That's more like what I wanted to hear!

My brother has rs29 and his dust is nothing in comparison. ..both in quantity and in evilness. ...his wheels just rinse clean.

Hate Armor All products...but for me the "Wheel Protectant" spray works very well for this purpose...

PFC08 do dust but it's not horrible. I've run Hawk HP+ before and the dust from those was horrific.
