I am surprised that no one opt for Cup2. My .1TT is on PSS for 3.5 years now, and about time to change them all. Thinking about CUP2 and PS4S.
What might be the concerns of having Cup2 for street (weekend car, also no driving in rain)? tread-wear?

Basic tradeoffs with Cup 2: treadwear....about 40% less than MPSS depending on driving style, firmer ride, noisier, at temp below 45 degrees they will have reduced grip and wear faster. Will pickup road debris and throw against car....stones, etc.
A great track tire, mediocre 4 season street tire with great warm dry handling capability.

Don't forget Kumho Ecsta for an economical alternative, if they offer your sizing. A very good alternative to semi-track, auto-X tires but made for the street and quite sticky when up to operating temp. Had them in 245/305/18 F/R sizing back in the days. I used them as well on a hot hatch I had and in numerous family vehicles over the years. In fact, just placed an order for a set of their relatively new PA51 UHP All-Season for my my dad's 03' Acura TL-S. BFGoodrich Comp TAs are good too!

MPSC2 are a GREAT tyre, but I don't think the benefits show through if you're not taking it on the track. They really shine when pushed hard, but you'd struggle to get them up to temp on anything but a very aggressive B road run with lots of tight corners.
The PS4S get you 95% of the road performance of the MPSC2, but with better wet and cold performance. They'll also last at least twice as long in my experience.
I run PS4S on my road wheels and MPSC2 on my track wheels - best of both worlds

I get 12-13 k out of the rears - replace fronts every other time I replace rears. My car is a DD so put about 10k on per year. I think, for the price, they are a very good street tire.

PS4S's on my TT and I agree with others on wear, noise (very quiet) and performance. They will be my next tires as well when these wear out. Also, last time I checked there were only two options for my TT (Pirelli and Michelin) given the 325 rears and I'm not much of a Pirelli fan on this non-track car. Have Kumho's on the 997 4S and they are great. This car is mountain and highway driven daily. They are long lasting and great handling in the rain. Have also run several sets of Toyo's and I really like that tire as well on the C4S as they're quiet and long lasting.

Another vote for Michelin PSS.. I have them in 19s on the 997.1TT and I have PS4S on my 550i, both tuned.
The PS4S is a game changer... I used to have cheap tires and with the 550i and with any mode outside of comfort, it used to break the tires loose... even at highway speeds! Now it won’t spin them at all with PS4S. Quiet too.
