I had my PS4's put on Monday. I really enjoy them so far. They are a smoother tire that the N-0 rated Bridgestone RE050A's.

I went with General G-Max RS. I was a little bit weary of General tires as I have zero experience with them on any of my past cars but I figured for costing more than half of the PS2s I would give them a shot. They seem to have pretty high ratings on TireRack even though they are in the "Ultra High Performance Summer" tire category compared to the PS2's in the "Max Performance Summer."

I have Michelin PS4S on my Porsche and daily driver. They seem to be very loud (whirring noise) and feel like I’m driving a 4x4. I’ve had alignments done but no difference. Anyone else notice this?

How old are the tires...DOT date code? How much tire pressure are you running? Type of roads, road surface conditions, temperatures all play a role.

On both the vehicles the tires are new. I’ve tried running different tire pressures (high and low). Our roads are not the best in WI. I seem to be the only one not happy with these tires.

I have the PS4S on my 2007 Turbo and don't think they are loud at all. I live in Chicago and have similar, or worse, roads as you. The only time I think they are slightly loud(ish) is concrete expansion joints. But that happens with most tires.

I just got back from a trip to the Tail of the Dragon in the Smokey Mountains. At no time did I feel they were not suitable tires. The noise levels were fine, handling was great, the feedback was good, and as I pushed them I found they chirped a little when they reached their limits. Then shortly after that could start to give into sliding. Very much like I experienced with the MPSS in the past. They seem to be a great replacement to the MPSS and should offer better mileage than the MPSS. I can't wait to see what they do on a road course. Hopefully, I can get to Road America for a track day next month.

Interesting observation and honestly makes me wonder what tires you ran prior. Even if this was the first batch of tires they shouldn’t be this bad due to how recent this release is.

I believe you, I just need more details because I’m about to get PS4S over every other brand for comfort and noise reason and now I’m concerned.

I’m shopping tires and not in serious need and I’m down to ps4s or ps2s. Currently have the ps2s and they have been great. Car isn’t tracked but is driven for spirited fun.

I was was all set to get the ps4s and my dealer is really discouraging me because of the lack of the N rating. Telling me about all the research and matching and warranty on suspension and differential. (Car has 2 years left on warranty). So I’m recomsidering going ps2s. Need the dealer to. Install because center locks are a pain to deal with. Don’t want my rims messed up.

IMO, dealer is full of it. PS2 are old technology, get the PS4 and never look back. Better ride, superior tire w/better wet and dry grip....also less expensive.

I don’t trust dealers one bit and I agree with the above comment about it being BS.

I’ve watched an older tech at a very reputable dealer here in Boston slide a jack under someone’s 991 and jack it up so lift would slide under lift points. I asked a younger and more Jr. tech who I trusted with balancing my tires/wheels about it and he said some just look at it this way: “it’ll catch somewhere.”

I went to a tech-school and was planning on being a tech but got into IT instead. I can confirm this is not uncommon when I chat with my old friends from school.

Long story short... if I can’t do it my Indy will.
