Default Testing the water/ 10,000 mile Turbo S

CONSIDERING moving to a 991 Turbo S. Wondering what the consensus is on value of my car. 2011 997.2 Turbo S. 10,182 miles, Meteor Grey Metallic, I'm the 4th owner. Have all owner and service history, Window Sticker ($181,000 msrp), books, records, and both keys. Clean carfax. New Michelins last year. Recent oil and filter service and PDK Service. Protective Film on front of car. Immaculate and no stories. Thanks for any input!

Unqualified to provide a valuation, but that's a pretty car!

I wouldn't hesitate to put that beauty on either of the 2 big auction sites. PCAR will list it faster, and I think either site will bring ALL the money. I believe this could exceed 115. That msrp is up there, and you have records.
also, pcar is easier on reserve setting

You could try BaT but from my current experience with them and their backlog of cars it will take at least two months before it goes to auction.

Backlog on BaT? I thought the auction is online. I hear they come and take the pictures but I would think you can take them yourself and start the auction? Now I know why they charge a fee to the BUYER for these auction.

I recently sold a BMW HP2 Sport motorcycle on PCAR that did very well, exceeded my expectations. They were easy to deal with and the bike went up on auction in about a week from my first contact with them. BaT rejected my bike, most likely due to the reserve I requested, but they do not provide a reason when they reject a vehicle. Just thanks, no thanks. I have observed others who are in line for auctions on BaT mention that the wait to get the car listed is long after acceptance. I imagine that they want to manage the deal flow so that they don't have too many of the same model competing, but as a seller, that would eat at me and thus, I recommend PCAR. Frankly, if you watch their results over at PCAR on any given day there is no difference from BaT.....buyers are active on both sites and final sale prices bear that out.

The process takes well over a month. Submit details, set reserve, you take pictures unless you work with one of their contracted photographers, they write the listing, etc. then you have to wait for the ability to get your car on the site. My friends dad just went through the process on his 997.1 Turbo and it was well over a month start to finish, maybe even closer to two months.

That's funny your vehicle can be rejected and must be accepted for the auction. What's next, they want school transcripts too? I just want to sell my car. Stressful just thinking about the whole process. Good luck to seller though!

I don't blame them for that though. They are trying to maintain a specific standard (not that this car doesn't meet it). It's not meant to be an auction clearing house for any car so they need to have some sort of controls on what gets hosted. I would imagine they also want to keep only a certain amount of the same type of car at auction at any point in time to keep prices up. If there are 50 pcars (997 C/turbo etc for example) at auction, prices will start to fall and reserves won't get met. The site is motivated to a) sell cars b) maintain their reputation as the place for premium cars.

This car should definitely get approved I would imagine.

yeah i'd say $110 to $120 depending on audience and how the market trends. Problem with BAT is that its taking over 30 days to get a listing up. Dont know about PCAR timing.

My auction starts this weekend. Although I have more miles then the red TTS mine is better optioned and conveys more aftermarket "goodies". I also think the pictures BaT took of my TTS are much better then the red TTS.

Default Testing the water/ 10,000 mile Turbo S

Thanks for all the input guys. After much thought I decided to keep my car. I looked for this one for a long time and it would be hard to replace it! It's mainly a weekend car fits the bill perfectly for that. Will still probably get a 991 Turbo S one day but the 997.2 Turbo S isn't going anywhere! Thanks again.
