Thinking of trading my C4S Cab for another turbo cab. 08 6spd or 11 tts?
I know of the differences and am not married to a 6 spd, but I do enjoy rowing gears. Which car do you think is a better investment in the long run? I also have a 2009 TT Cab with tiptronic that I am keeping. I keep the two cabs at different homes.
My C4S Cab is 6 spd with 11,600 miles.
08 TT 6spd with 40k miles
11 TTS PDK with 25000 miles. ($15,000 higher)

Just picked up a 11TTS, very fun but a different sort of fun than three pedals...I sort of feel with this amount of power the PDK is better suited, and have other cars, so PDK works for me on this platform. All that being said drive em both and see what clicks! Investment is hard to consider, can't imagine in five years it would make a material difference either way assuming you are not only investing in 911 turbos

You already have one automatic, cab, turbo. I would get the different flavor and go for the manual / mezger combo.

I'm certain to be in the minority in stating that 6mt is overrated. ya i get the whole shifting to "feel connected" speech. been there, done that in my 20s, 30s and 40s.
now in my older age, I'm perfectly fine and prefer letting the car do the work i paid for. and in often occasion i just want to mash the pedal, i don't feel burdened to "feel connected" by having to constantly shift gears... especially having the satisfaction that the pdk will shift perfectly, accurately, on time... every time.
whilst i just hold on, steer and smile.

Honestly if you already have a 997 Turbo, even at a different home, why not try something completely different? Lots of cars out there. What about a manual R8?

I just went through the same dilemma (1st world problems) I wanted a 07+ Turbo 6-spd but couldn't find the right spec and miles. When I did find a nice one they were asking as much as an TTS or more. In my opinion the Turbo 6-spd isn't worth as much or more than a TTS. So I bought a CPO 2012 TTS cab. I haven't picked it up yet so picture thread will be coming.
Both are special and have bottomed out depreciation wise and I shy away at using the term investment with cars. But to answer your question I would sell the tip, buy a .1 6-spd and a .2 TTS.
I wouldn't even consider a Tip or PDK in a NA 911 but in the Turbo the PDK I feel is better suited to the platform and allows you to fully exploit it potential.

True dilemma
As you know, with torque everywhere, the manual is very 'suited' to any 997 turbo!
But IMO the 997.2 is vastly superior to the 997.1
Go for the TTS

The 997.1 Turbo 6spd will be worth more money in the long run than any 997.2 Turbo PDK (comparable miles, options and top (coupe/cab))
Personally, I'd go for the 997.1 Turbo 6spd.

In January of this year, I sold my 996 C4S cab manual for a 997.2 Turbo S PDK. I must be honest in that I miss the linear powerband, usability, and of course the manual trans of my old 996. While the 7.2 TS is a wonderful machine in its own right, I'm starting to think I made a mistake and may start looking to go back to a 996/997 manual, naturally aspirated version.

997.2TT is vastly superior to a 993TT and we know where that stands with not just the collectors but also with the purists.

I am also trying to decide between a 997.1 or .2 Turbo with a manual transmission or a 997.2 Turbo S (obviously with PDK). I see you have had both, why do you prefer the Turbo S over the manual. (I have never driven a PDK, but certainly preferred the manual over the triptronic). My current car is a 996 6 speed manual, which I love and will be keeping.
Which do you think will hold their value better longer term?
