Is this a fact that it’s coming out for the 997? I wonder how they’ll address the grey 997.1 vs black 997.2 center stack.

Would be really cool if the kit was black with the bottom section replacement in black as well so .1 folks could convert to the dark look. Just dreaming is all.

i was unclear if that statement was conjecture or if there had been real movement on it. there is a thread on this and it's still not totally official but here is what i found:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post17927778

seems like there is a chance, at least.

i like my kenwood aftermarket unit but i lost some PCM integration and it looks out of place. i'm definitely in for the official version once it comes out.

I don't like that I have to turn off the sports suspension when I hit the sport button to make the Tip S more sport aggressive, but don't want a bone jarring ride around town on bad roads.

This would be amazing. I would spend all the money on a center stack update if something like this was available from Porsche. Particularly because the interior of my car is 100% gray. It would be nice to break up the interior with something that isn't gray.

Probably my least favorite part of the entire car is the grey center stack. I painted mine and have the least aftermarket looking headunit I could find, but a factory Porsche one would be awesome.

If you got a DSC controller it would do that for you, and your car would ride better in ALL modes. Best mod for 997 Turbo. Plug & play.

Same, hate the silver (and the stupid PCM 2.1, I mean Bluetooth existed then, why have go back to the 1980's for a car phone). This looks amazing. I need to do this.

Agree with majority of comments but would add two annoyances:
1) Electrical connections - am I the only one afraid of breaking these plastic doohickies while trying to figure out how they unplug? And why are these wire connections different throughout the car?
2) Cab roof control - No one push up/down, gotta hold the button, oh, and when dropping the top, the door windows come up as part of the sequence (I like the windows down along with the top thank you very much)

Get the smart top for #2. It's very easy to plug and play (watch a few youtube videos). There are a ton of configurations you can do. I have it set to one touch cab top down and windows stay down + 1 touch cab top up and windows up. You can also set it so you hold the unlock for 5 seconds and the top will go down before getting into the car. Really nice add on.
