Tractive Install and Suspension Progress
I've had my 2009 Turbo for about 4 years now and I'm finally getting it dialed in. Now that my car is off the road for the winter, I figured I would share the changes I made in my winter project, lessons learned, and get feedback / thoughts on anything I'm missing.
The goal for my upgrades was to refresh the suspension to give it a tighter, more responsive feel and proper stance with new wheels. I don't track the car, it's mainly a weekend driver. Here's what I have so far:
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I'll update this as I make other changes.
The goal for my upgrades was to refresh the suspension to give it a tighter, more responsive feel and proper stance with new wheels. I don't track the car, it's mainly a weekend driver. Here's what I have so far:
- Tractive Touring Coilovers: This is essentially the street version of the Tractive RT suspension.
- Tarett front drop links with Tractive bracket
- Tarett rear drop links
- Tarett Motorsports Toe Link / bump steer (with locking plate kit)
- GT3 Front Sway Bar
- GT3/GT2 Rear Sway Bar
- RSS Motor Mounts
- Function First Transmission Mount Insert
- APEX VS-5RS Forged Wheels (Front: 19x9" ET50, Rear: 19x12" ET46)
- Pilot Cup2: 255/35/19 front with 325/30/19 in the rear: there was a lot of debate on if the fronts would fit. I've seen no rubbing at all and it's the closets front/rear ratio to stock. Amazing fit and modern design.
- new lug bolts - thinking Acer Racing unless there are other good options?
- Suspension setup, Alignment, and corner balance.
- Install function first shifter kit (decided to try this over Numeric)
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I'll update this as I make other changes.

Brilliant. I'll bet you can't wait to drive it!
Adjustable LCAs will give you an increase in front negative camber, though your fitment may preclude this . . .

Superb set up the only thing I'd want to check is if the RSS engine mounts are causing knock. The 997 mezger sensitive to knock. 964 RS or 997 GT2/GT3 engine mounts may be a better solution.

Look forward to hearing a review of this.

The wheels look great. Nicest 997 wheel at the moment for me.

Will definitely get a review out post alignment. My initial low speed test run was only a few miles and non-sport mode was much more firm and felt good but I was still running the stock DSC file. I need to get the tractive version loaded.
It's Aqua Blue over Stone Gray. Yeah I was torn on wheel color and strongly considered gold and anthracite, but it was hard to visualize so I went with silver which I knew would look good.

If you are on Bilsteins and think you may need new coil overs Tractive defo the way way to go. They're game changing if you want to keep the usability of PASM.
