Default 997.2 Turbo S exhaust compatibility

Proud owner of a (new to me) 997.2 Turbo S. A dream come true, especially at a young age. My only complaint is that the stock exhaust is so quiet! I've been looking at exhausts, and some say a center muffler replacement fits a 997.2 and a 991. Are these exhausts cross compatible? Thanks!

We can do a soul performance setup! Also have Akrapovic in stock. 997.1 & .2 are different.

I have a 997.2 TTS with a fabspeed valved exhaust and I truly love it. Having the ability to make it quite when i just want to chill, or turn it up when i want to hear it is amazing. I do recommend it

Agreed stock mufflers are very quite. From what I read and gather, it's due to the the turbos and cats.

I went with Sharkwerks and content with it. Def NOT on the loud side.

It appears nobody actually read your question. The 997.2 Turbo S and 991 Turbo have the same basic engine. While I'm not 100% sure, it follows the center muffler placement is likely the same. The overall exhaust system is not the same but that portion may be the same (again, not 100% sure). That said, depending on how much volume you want, you may not want any center muffler section. The exhaust on my 997.2 TTS does not have a center muffler. I have nothing but an X-pipe in the location where the center muffler would be located.

The catalysts are the same on the 991 turbo and the 997.2 turbo, the center sections are different.

I love my turbo s and the exhaust. I guess I have gotten it out of my system on my way up in age.

I really enjoy the car and its bone stock other than built in radar jammers (done years ago) and PPF redone 2x since new. White show all.

The only mod I am interested in is wireless car play. Hoping porsche will come out with a PCM upgrade for the 3.0. One can hope.

was at a McLaren Cc in Westhampton last Sunday AM and there was a Turbo S with some mods. I heard it come in and it was loud. Just not what I’m looking for.

to each their own. Enjoy your car but consider keeping it stock for a bit you may come to love the stealthy quietness of this self directed rocket ship.

Enjoy.

This is the correct answer, and i say upgrade the cats - best way to add power AND exhaust volume without introducing a ton of drone into the cabin.

OP: I happen to be selling a set, lol - check your PMs!

I have the Sharkwerks X-pipe on my 997.2TT and have very happy with it - nice full throaty sound, not obnoxiously loud, and no drone.
