New turbo test drive

Yep ... Boring .. that is why many hi end Porsche people jumped ship over the last few years to Ferrari , with the 430 becoming the new king and far from anything remotely boring . They were on a roll up until the 996 then thing got boring almost a GT , not the raw little screamer that it was for so many years .

Ferrari dealer in my area did not have one with more than 5000 miles. Salesman said the car is NOT a daily drive and he does not recommend one buys the car as a daily drive. He also has a 4YR wait list to get on the wait list.

Personally, I'd rather be a driver than a curator.

i put, on avg, 2k on my p car every months. many on track. the $5k service on f cars is minute compared to what a GT3 can chew up in one track season. my tire cost exceeds $5k/year easy, let alone other wearables.
drive them and have a blast.

the reason that people don't drive the ferrari a ton is because they depreciate very sharply every thousand miles -not as much as a murcielago, but go to autobaron.com and look them up. i don't think the peripheral parts like interiors and cab tops last too long on the pre 430 models. also the clutches fry in about 10k miles on the manual tranny- i don't know how long the f1 lasts but i'd be much more nervous about buying a 2001 360 f1 than a Gt2
you can't drive it if its in the shop!

From my experience, the reasons new Ferraris don't get driven much is they are mostly used as weekend toys, and they only hold their better-than-average resale if they have low miles. The p-car is a worker drone in comparison.

The 355's major service is even more because the engine needs to be dropped. The F430 is similar to the 360 for service, except I think they finally went with timing belts instead of chains. Every service on the F-car is stupid expensive. I have the $$, but I'm not going to bend over anymore on principle.
