Who uses radar protection and what kind?

Had three V1's. Bought an Escort 9500. Used it for one week and loved the lack of false alarms. I used it always under "Highway" sensitivity since it will filter all the false ones that I program in anyway. Sold two of my V1's on Ebay and bought another 9500. Now I don't ignore the beeps anymore. Most of the time, when it beeps, its something I should be aware of. I kept one V1 just to do some comparison testing. So far, I prefer the 9500.

V 1
Two examples:
In Daytona Beach proper 2 weeks ago coming home at night. A few blips and it stopped and the arrow indicated the signal was ahead of me. No more noise but I was alone and was skeptical and cut back from 80 to 55. Local team of 2 marked cars in the medium strip hiding using instant on. I did get the gun eventually but was going 55 mph on Bevill Rd. The V1 picks up signals in the air thankfully and the more you use it the more you know what to listen for. In this case my experience paid off.
On I-95 South this past Sunday coming from a Porsche event in Cocoa, I was moving fast and the V1 "back or down arrow" lit up and the unit started making noise and the dots got stronger and stonger.. slowed down fast and a minute or so later a Brevard Sheriff Car was in my mirror. Of course I was going the legal speed of 70 mph. He may have suspected this Red TT was going over 100 mph but had no proof.
I like to know where the radar is and the V1 affords me that knowledge.
I wouldnt go back to the Escort or the Cobra.

me too . . .
Actually, I like the Solo 2 also . . . thought I was the only one . . . Ive seen the tests, and, while the others are more sensitive, did not feel that the differences were practically significant--if I'm the first in line or the only car, you get clocked no matter what detector you have . . . so far so good. Like automute too.

I have had the V1 for 7 years and sent it back to get the pop2 upgrade. Like AE dont leave home without it. My son has the new escort 9500 with GPS, he likes the learn and ignore feature for false alams on a daily route. I have a friend who had a lasar jammer and we tried it out with some friendly cops in Willis, Texas. It didnt work, period.

My mom has the Solo 2 in her E500 and to be honest, it sucks (literally). In most cases, I didn't get any warnings until the cop was literally on top of me and yes, I know it's possible they didn't use radar until then. I have a V1 and a 8500. I've compared all three and the V1 has always come out on top for me. So, V1 all the way for me!

Thanks for the posts! I have been using the same 2 V1's I bought in 1994 without upgrades! I have just sent both in for upgrades! Even the old ones saved me and my coharts many times. Been pulled over many times by over 5 texas police officers at a time and never received a ticket...I guess they couldn't keep their hands off the instant on, and they did not realize how far away a V1 will pick up a signal.
Looking forward to the upgraded "slimmer?" units.
Just for grins...I have never replaced the suction cups! They are yellow, but work well!
