Default Exhaust choice for 997tt

Hey guys,

I have been thinking to get a whole new exhaust system for my 997tt, with an ecu upgrade, approximately to 550-560 hp.

I'm doing some research for lots of brands and i now got 3 selections left to choice. Which one would you choose? You can say any other brands if you tell the reason :P And I also would appreciate any experiences and feedbacks about any of those systems!

FVD Race Type
Techart
Tubi

Thanks a million

You don't have mine on your list but I will tell you why I picked it besides being one of the loudest out there.
I have the Cargraphic export loud version and the 3 main reasons I picked it are:

1- 200 cell cat = no CEL issues for sure (vs 100 cell for some)
2- Heat shield comes built in like the OEM exhaust, very important in a tuned car in my opinion.
3- Power gain (20-25hp) and weight loss (12 pounds) both more than adequate.

I have Fabspeed quiet and headers and they are just as the name describes: quiet. Nicely constructed, however.

I have heard tubi and it would be my choice if I were doing it again.

No, Tubi is not louder than FS loud.
FWIW I wouldn't be too concerned about heat shields or lack there of, even the GT2 doesn't use heat shields.

thanks for the comments.. To be honest, I am not so sure about what I want, loud or not loud. i want it to be loud when i launch, but i don't want it to sound like a tractor when the motor is cold and the engine just started.

I think i liked FVD Race type exhaust best between those videos, i guess the 997tt sounds same with it. any experiences? but i also consider tubi seriously, i read good things about them eveywhere.

The 997TT stock exhaust will sound raspy on cold startup, the same holds true with aftermarket , only more magnified on the free flowing exhaust. I would not let that be a factor in your decision. What you need to do, if at all possible, listen to several exhausts in person. Unfortunately, the sound bites online are almost worthless.

unfortunately, I don't have many selections in Turkey, we just have official Techart dealer in here, no tubi, fabspeed, cargraphic or fvd. But I'm thinking of bringing my car to Germany, listen exhausts in person, and then got them installed on their own workshop. But I don't know if i'm going to have the time to do that

Tubi is the 2nd system on my car I really like it. Quality and fitment #1.

Never heard the TA in person but will on the 14th.

Best of luck and congrats on you car.

PM sent.

The first round was AWE. "Great-great system and top quality fitment like the Tubi" I was just looking for a different tone and found my personal favorite to date with Tubi.

Looking forward to hearing/driving with the TA as well.

Are you referring to the 997 GT2 ? because it has a titanium exhaust and maybe that's why it doesn't need a shield?

The Tubi features aerospace construction to help it run cooler.
The Gt2 has a straight thru design, not a heat shield in sight. I don't know if the Ti makes a significant difference or not, but I would love to hear a GT2 in person

Stay tuned... had the gen 3's, a little too loud, now back to stock, but can't take it anymore. Gonna try something new, maybe FSquiets if I can put a deal together.
