Default Track vid 997tt vs 996 Gt3

A 20 min video of me following my friend in his 996 Gt3 (fully pimped suspension and brakes) on a very tight and technical course (MSR Cresson 3.1 mile CCW). It was my first time at the track, and the M3 and 993 we were following were instructors/racers/pro drivers.

track time!

Try putting some tape over the microphone next time, it'll help the wind noise.

What is the thing that was suction-cupped on your windshield?

In our track days, we need to remove all loose items, and this thing will not be allowed.

Tim,

the dash item is a GPS data logger/lap timer - Performance Box. It is quite common now and passes tech inspection at the PCA events. It has little mass.

Turbofire thanks on the comments. With a 200 hp advantage over the Gt3 and 300 hp advantage over the 993 and M3 I actually should be quite ashamed! However in my defense it is a very brake intensive track with very few areas for HP cars to stretch out, and it took me a day and a half just to figure out the layout.

In metronypca they won't let you have anything stuck to the windshield, I know/I tried.
Looks like a typical momentum track (aka lightning, LRP), perfect for lighter, low hp cars. Go to a long, high speed track like WGI and those cars will be a distant blip in your rear view mirror.
