Hey there everyone,
I was curious if anyone bought a PDK without the LSD, and would be interested in having one. We are looking into development of this and was curious what the market was going to be like? Thanks for taking the time to post. Warmest Regards, Erik Johnson GBox Sales Manager (303) 440-8899 work (303) 895-4828 cell |

Nope, PTV applies brake pressure to individual wheels to enhance turn in and stability.
I was curious if anyone had a 997 with the PDK transaxle, but not the factory LSD. I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that the LSD was an option. We are thinking of developing a LSD for the PDK gearbox, for those who might have wished they had taken the LSD option at the time of purchase, or for those who would simply like to upgrade from the stock unit. Thanks for your post though. Erik Johnson |

From the order guide:
220 Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV): Actively enhances the driving dynamics and stability by enabling variable distribution of engine torque to the rear wheels and mechanical limited-slip rear differential. Depending on the steering angle, steering speed, throttle pedal position, yaw velocity and vehicle speed, PTV optimizes steering response and precision by applying brake pressure to the left or right rear wheel as required. PTV (MY2010 forward) replaced LSD (220: Axle-Differential Lock Rear, MY2009 and earlier). Unless the order guide is wrong, I think you are looking for PDK car without PTV (which now includes LSD). |

I thought PTV was bundled with the PDK, ie can't get the pdk without it, no?
Why would anybody order the pdk and all the rest, skip the ptv, then turn around and add an aftermarket one later? I think you're looking at a very small market share. I would rather see a beefier lsd to replace the crappy stock lsd in tt's and gt cars.

I didn't realize anybody made one specific for a tt to replace the oem lsd. To my knowledge porsche didn't offer the lsd with a tip.

Hey there Chris,
Actually yes, there are several to choose from, for the TT that would be a replacement for the stock unit. OS Giken makes a very nice unit that offers a superior advance to the OEM differential. It is a 20 plate differential and offers a level of control to the driver that I think you will be truly impressed with. Let me know if you would like more information on this, as we are vendors for this differential. GT also makes a replacement differential, I would be happy to discuss both options with you. There are benefits to both choices. Feel free to give me a call this weekend if you would like, or on Monday, and I will give you some more detail on this.
