Default Bought my first Porsche, the refinement is superb!

So this past weekend i picked up my 997.1 Turbo.

Feel like I got a very good deal on a car I am happy about. I really wanted an 09 but couldnt pass up the deal on this 07 so i pulled the trigger. So far I am very impressed with the refinement and quality of the car especially being 7 years old.

I havent really dug into the manual yet but figured i would throw my questions on here in case anyone wants to answer...

In previous cars i always waited until a certain "oil temp" before really driving the car. Is there a specific time/temp u guys wait for before getting in it. Im guessing since the turbos are oil/water cooled there is no "cool down" time required before shut down.

The gauge on the right that usually reads 5 while cruising. Oil pressure?

Setting the memory. Hold/combo of buttons? Ignition have to be a certain place?

In the front "trunk" what is the little compartment for above the cd changer was it a first aid kit or tool kit...its empty now.

Can u customize locking/unlocking/light options. I couldnt find a menu to change them.

Again sorry for questions i can read in the manual so dont answer if you dont want and i will lookem up eventually.

On a sad note i sold my z06 today. Had it since new in 05 and am sad to see it go but it was time to move on.

And i know everyone likes pics so ill try and get some once i get it washed.

Until then i have lots of learning to do from you all.

Congrats.

I personally dont go above 3000 rpms until the oil is up to temp.

I dont think you have to do the usual cool down on these turbos but I do it anyway, the last couple of miles I will run it very easy.

Yes gauge on right is pressure.

I had a 2008 z06. Loved it but was sick of it being manual where live now. Wanted a vert also so got my 07 SL55 last year. This year added my 07 911 turbo to the stable. I have only got to drive the car for few minutes as not into winter driving it , but should have it out and about in a few weeks. Sure I will love the car.
I do plan to add a new z06 to the stable in next year or two and possibly a newer Viper as well.
Anyway congrats on your new toy. Welcome to the forum.

On temp, keep it below 4000rpm until it reaches 140 degrees.

Seat memory, you key press the memory button then the number on my '09. 1st memory is "key dependent", 2nd and 3rd aren't.

Congratulations

Im guessing since the turbos are oil/water cooled there is no "cool down" time required before shut down.

The Turbos have auxilary water and oil pumps that will circulate around there bearings when you shut the car down.

The memory seat has to haven the ignition on to program also the setting are Key specific
