Default GT3 RS wheels

Will GT3 RS wheels fit a 997.1 Turbo? It's a common mod on the 996tt's, but I am unsure if they would fit. It appears they are 19x12 et 48.

Thanks!

Yes they fit just fine. Lots of folks mount the GT3RS on TT's since they are wide body fitment. Here are the sizes for the 997.1 GT3RS wheels:

Front: 8.5J x 19 ET 53
Rear: 12J x 19 ET 51

Thanks! Is there a difference between .1 and .2 fitment?

I'm probably the only person on the planet that wishes they had CL's. I know they're almost universally derided. Since I don't track, it wouldn't be a real issue for me, I'm guessing.

I would have CL. Aesthetically pleasing and no hassle if you're not swapping them over often.

.2 wheels are better looking IMO. I'll eventually put GMG LMS 5 lugs on I think.

This is your chance to change wheels and wheels ends!

What size tires did you run? It looks like it would be very hard to fill the wheel correctly and stay within the 2% or under recommended.

As a for instance:

the 2010 GT3 RS stock tire sizes of 245/35 19 and 325/30/19 are 3.5% different front to rear.

Doesn't seem to be a decent combination to get them under 2%. I've driven wheels/tires on my 996tt that were off front to rear and it turns the car into a handling nightmare.

GT3 and GT3RS are both RWD so with no AWD differential to worry about less concern about the %'s. OEM TT tire widths (235/35 and 305/30) work fine (and look fine) on the GT3 wheels.

Any way to get the .2 wheels in black without spending 10k from sun coast? At that price HRE SC or p101 are a better deal for cheaper even.

I have the .1 GT3RS wheels currently. Work great, just bought MPSS in stock sizes 235/305. Debated going one size up since many have said it's fine but decided it wasnt really worth it (especially since they were $100 more).

Just so it's all here.

.1's are 8.5/12
.2's are 9/12

You can run stock (997TT) tire sizes on the 997.1 GT3RS wheels without issues. Or go up to 325 in the rear but the price difference on a PSS 325/30/19 is quite substantial compared to a 305 when I was looking.

Best looking wheels for the TT IMO.

And if any of you guys wants to swap 5-lug hubs for CL I'm game!

I love my CL's. Change them regularly as I run different wheels for track v street. Easy to do. Looks great, unique. Get to make friends asking people to press the brake peddle while you torque them, lol. Get to spend 3k next year when I hit 7k track kms.
