Default Never satisfied?.

So I have a relatively new (to me) 996TT.
Put a tune in and I love it.
But my eye is wandering cause TV isn't cutting it tonight.

I saw this - https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/21459014 - and thought hmm...

So it looks like the '12TTS are mostly around the 100k mark. Or about 2x the 6TT. They are newer. Are they significantly better?

If anyone had both, how?
I know this is a silly comparison question, but I'm genuinely curious.
I don't have garage space for a third toy and people are asking crazy $ for the few 09 in a stick that are out there.

That's the lowest price that I've seen for a 997 TTS. The mileage is relatively high, but it's not crazy. They are spectacular cars. I'm not bashing the 996 TT, but the 997 TT is better in many, many ways.

Maybe its price the way it is due to a) miles and b) minor damage reported on carfax. There is still warranty left on this car. It looks sharp.

Don't misunderstand - I wasn't set on that car.
I was flipping through liked the color. Only then did I see it was unusually cheap.

My question was more is the car that much better?
There aren't any f/s within a reasonable distance of me or I'd just go drive one. I've driven a regular 997 but not a TT.

Hard to compare, like comparing a 930t to a 993tt. Both are great cars, on is 3 years old the other 13, digital vs analog, big difference in gadgets, pdk etc. Having said that, a tuned 996tt is extremely fast on the track and will give any 997 tt a run for its money.
Is the tts better? Yes, but not twice as good IMO.

Guys I just don't see it? It's basically the same car design with a different motor and transmission! They look the same. Honestly, I wouldn't waste my time trading a 997.1tt for anything other than a 991tt.

Actually, they both use canbus topology. Porsche has not even embraced the much faster flexray which is used by everyone else in the industry. So your analog/digital statement isn't quite right to me. It's more like new vs a little newer. Other than the outdated navi system, which by the way can be upgraded via MOST, it's the same chick with a boob job. I on the other hand, would rather have a different chick with a boob job! But do respect your opinion as always sir.

I'd keep the 996, have driven several and they're a great Porsche....only reason to upgrade to a 10-12 TTS is a large increase in baseline HP/Tq, DFI Engine w/ improved response and fuel milage, 7 Speed PDK with Launch Control, Sport and Sport Plys Settings for the Track, Advanced PCM, Improved Suspension and Handling, Ceramic Brakes, Ventilated Seats, there are a few other items, but yea, as you said it's basically the same car..."LugNut" Post some pics...

Ok, ok, same chick with a lose shirt for air ventilation for her new boob job and of course glitter on her face . You will never convince me. You do know what DFI stands for?

Ok, ready...DFI? Give it your best shot..don't half *** it...

Again, the 996 is a great Porsche... (just with smaller ***** of course, but what's not to like?)

TTS is a great car but tough to justify the premium over what you have now.

What I really want to know more about is your LS swapped Triumph!!!

This could be a nice option. 2011 TTS 34K miles @ $96K ask with CPO through the end of the year.

You mean from a 996 to a 997? Never mind you got me on that one. Misread original post I thought it was from a 997.1tt to a 997.2tt.

Well just to really screw things up for myself...

I had a couple of hours free this afternoon and drove a 991.1TT
Me likee. The 991.2 4S not so much. It's laggy.

And this is the Rumf. The garage is a mess - they were putting in new cabinets.
