Since the rainy season is rolling over here in california i thought i might bring this topic up.
I have heard and read alot of people don't drive their cars in the rain and can't seem to understand the reason behinde that. Mine is my daily driver so i don't have a choice it gets driven rain or shine. I can understand snow and salt (which we never get in california) take a toll on the car but whats water gona do?
Has anybody had any problems or rust issues?

for some, the P-car is strictly a TOY and is pampered/babied and is spared from crappy weather (rain, snow, etc.)...beater gets used for those days

I live on so cal and drive my '84 when it rains - RWD is much more fun on wet roads then the 4S!

I drive mine in the rain all of the time. But Issues with water could include leakage into cabin due to aging seals, leakage of water into electrical mating connectors due to aging seals etc.

I drive mine in all conditions, with the only exception being deep snow. I'm not saving it for the next guy...

mine is now parked for the winter....and winter here means a hideous monsooning cold rainy season. might snow once or twice and when it does itll be a foot + of the really wet heavy snow.
im not into taking it easy with my car...i like to pound in it. dry roads work for me. wet, occasionally frosty, twisty road sucks for pounding it on. i really do feel that driving it conservatively is doing my car a disservice. its not fair to my car to baby it like that.
and im too used to driving it with the top down so i couldnt drive it with the top up all the time either.

I put the hard top on for winter and prefer to leave mine indoors when bad weather is forecast. Almost a Daily Driver with radar detector on board sporting road rash kind of speaks for itself. Garage Queens probably don't have a radar detector on board.

I've been driving my 2004 C2 year round, including snow, for the past five years with no issues at all. In the winter I am diligent with taking the car through a touchless car wash with the undercarriage spray typically once per week and keeping her clean and polished. No rust, no leaks, no issues. Proper winter tires makes it one of the better cars I have had for winter.

The C4S is a California car and the undercarriage is still pristine so I don't put her in the snow, saving her for me when someday the C2 is retired.

I still chuckle when I recall the time the C2 was in the driveway, buried in snow, and the police came to escort the ambulance that was taking my mother in-law to the hospital. I greeted the police at the door and the cop asks who owns the Porsche. I was a little taken aback by the question but said "that would be me". He points to my car and says "well sir, now that's a crime".

In the end these are cars, I bought them to drive them because for me that is what they are really all about.

I don't drive it in the rain unless I have to, but only because the rain leaves very obvious spots when it dries. It drives fine and has no leaks, I just don't want to have to wash it every time I drive it.

I waited 30 years for a Porsche - I sure as hell am driving it as often as i can...I have a LOT of time to make up!!!!

OH - and a Porsche is a great car (DUH) which means....its a great foul weather car ---- DUH DUH !!

I see LOTS of Porsche's and spend gobs of time under them and peeking around. Although I can really appreciate the super clean, spotless, time capsule dust free cars - I would not want to own one because i plan to drive mine which means it will get rock chips and dirt, sand, cigarette buts and pine needles in it - I took my car to some concourse events and seriously could give a rats behind is "someone else" thinks its a nice car - I bought it for ME
