Thanks for the video Neil. I always like looking back at the course afterwards but I have been too lazy to set up my camera lately.

Yep! 75.579+2 run #4 I believe and I was way over driving it on the transition to the taxi way. I had some better first halfs just to come around onto the tower section to be greet by a red flag.

D1 77.279+1 77.404 77.767+2 75.579+2 76.303+2 103.047
D2 76.750 75.451+1 76.042+2 75.849

Did my first National Tour over the weekend; was a great experience. Coned away a trophy in RTR, but that seems to be my M.O., and I'm still happy with how I did. I've got a much better idea now of just how much better I need to get to podium with the big boys at nationals: a lot, lol. Hope Alan Pozner's feeling better!

The announcer's commentary at the end of my 3rd run Saturday was rather heartbreaking...

My final "spin it or win it" death-star run Sunday closed the gap, but ended a few tenths shy of the podium.

Did I mention I like the course? I've been spending far too much time at Pungo. I loved being able to drive open high-speed courses. I was on ZIIs, btw.

Chicago Region PCA - first AX of the year.

This was my best *clean* run (yes I know I really butchered the first big left). I had 3 more runs after this one that were .4-.7s faster but I kept clipping the inside cone before the first slalom (allegedly!) The passenger was a family friend of one of our participants from California, I think he said he was from the San Diego Region (?)

Was a fun course though. (Though I guess I'm biased since I helped design it...)

Wow that DOES look like a fun course. Last time I ran with the SCCA (years ago now) it was a bunch of first gear U-turns. Maybe I'll have to give my local chapter a shot...

You might have just had a bad course; if ALL their courses suck, that just means someone else should be doing course design for the region. Was back to Pungo for me, though. I really really hope we can use ACU4 again (Navy hovercraft squadron with a massive expanse of aviation-grade concrete to play on); Navy seems to have changed their security posture and let other groups back on so my fingers are crossed. Autocross is fun on a small lot, but so much more fun when there's room for larger courses.

My next to last run yesterday. On the last run I was .6sec faster but nicked a cone almost at the end coming out of the "box". My son also drove my car and was only .4sec slower. It was his first ever competition! He did attend a local AX school last month. Hmmm, he is going to have to get his own darn car.

Burglar,

My vid is pretty crappy. Smartphone on a windshield mount. Too much vibration and can't hear the motor very well. I like the side mount point of view for yours. Looks like an intense run. These cars do make a cool sound. Is that the Silverdome? Was the Braid guy there with his Carrera?

Yes, Paul was two cars in front if me in grid. Rocking the giant mudflaps and all. It was awesome having two of us there.

Nice cool day at Deven's for NER's 1st autocross of the season. This is my best run but there was still room for improvement. I am very pleased with the grip of the Dunlop Direzza Z2

My son was also driving but was a few seconds a drift.
