Default Ever seen a Boxster with the fenders painted like a 550 Spyder?

I was wondering what a Boxster would look like with the tops of the fenders painted red like James Dean's 500 Spyder.

I think that's an interesting idea. Someone should do a Photoshop.

I have seen stripes painted on the Boxster (actually a Ruf 3400S) hardtop, and thought they looked really good.

I've posted a few other times in the Boxster area about my father looking for one. He down to a couple of colors:

Forest Green (I'm not sure on the name, that is what he call's it)
That real dark blue that is almost black.
I keep saying silver.
I love silver Porsche's (even though mine are Mocha Braun and Black) He said, "Ever see one with fender stripes like James Dean's car?" He would go for a silver one and do that to it. I'm curious if it's been done before and how it looks.

Sean M., that's a sweet ride you got there.

And Hacker-Pschorr, thanks for the pics. I added them to my Porsche library.

I have a feeling if someone did a A+ job on the paint work it wold look nice. I just don't know if I would have the guts to do it to my car. Any volunteers out there? Best wishes - Jay Gratton

A friend of mine that does body work I would trust doing this. He has done quite a few race cars for the PCA, lots of stripes and other details. Every job he's done is excellent. I was talking to my dad about this again. We'll probably try a vinal sticker first to get a feel for the look. If that works, paint it on. Hopefully he will find a car since spring is upon us!

Tough to say, since the old 550s have little tail lights that the stripe can originate from (or finalize to?). The Boxster has such a wide/fat tail light...would you still try to do a narrow stripe? ..or start it wide (wrapped around the light cluster) and bring it forward to a point?

I'll see if I have any better pics of my silver '99 that I can do some photoshop work with. I certainly like the idea...
