Default 718 Tail Lights on my 986(Best visual upgrade I've done)

Hey everyone! I found these brand new tail lights a few weeks ago that were just released for the 986. It is an exact replica of the 718 boxster/cayman tail lights but inside of the 986 tail light housing. I fell in love the second I saw them. Put them on my car and I am absolutely amazed. Took a good 15 years off my 99 Boxster lol. I took some pics and video for you guys. I'm planning to upgrade the headlights next as well as maybe put on a spoiler or replace the stock spoiler with a small ducktail.

Your's look great! I just like to keep it as porsche as possible while adding a little of my own flavor here and there so that was my big determining factor with the 718 lights.

I totally understand keeping things "porsche" but at this point my car is anything but a porsche except for the emblems
At 22 years old I dont really care, when I sell it its probably going to mid-life crisis male anyways

Those actually look amazing. Do you still have the stock headlight housings? I'm wondering if I'd need to get new headlights as well to "complete" the look

Yea I have the stock headlights still. I'd like to get new ones to better match. But its not like its an eyesore or anything.

I got these for my Spec Boxster. I like them!

Here are some photos showing it. The weight is in kg, so factory is 1.0 kg per side and these are 1.62 kg per side. Total weight gain of 1.24 kg = 2.7 lbs.

Personally I like them quite a bit, feels like a facelift for the old Boxster!

I like the look, but if you're going to that modern look you really need to change out the front too!

That's about how I feel. These are cool, but look a little out of place, especially with the stock headlights. And the only aftermarket 986 headlight assemblies I've seen so far look awful.

And who knows, you might end up like the early 911 owners who installed impact bumpers on their cars to make them look newer.

I've got the new Gen 2 headlights from xtreme motorcars coming in on monday and I'll take plenty of pics and vids. It'll match the tail lights perfectly!

On my end, I just have film over the front lights so it matches reasonably well - mine is a track/race car only so I don’t really use the headlights.
