Default What are the best "Boxster S" years for an LS swap?

A few stars have lined up lifestyle-wise for the following plan: buy a Boxster S, beat the ***** off it, and if/when the IMS causes CEF, do the LS swap.
Main question is, aside from engine-wise which I don't care, what are the years to avoid since, after a swap, I'd prefer the least amount of additional issues.
Also, if anyone's done this before is Renegade the only company that makes the conversion kit and if not, what are the other vendors and which would you recommend?

Thanks in advance

Renegade spent some time on the phone w/ me to educate me. Ideally this is done to a 996 or 997.
It can be done to a Boxster S but the recommended scenario is a 987 with a 986 transmission so there would be two "finds" involved.
