Soft top window replacement for 2002 Boxter?
Cold weather has just bit me.
Do I need to replace the whole top or can I ...I don't know, purchase a new window and have an upholstery shop sew it in or something?
Any suggestions? Any links? Any local and reasonable shops that might do this in the Los Angeles area? Am I fantasizing about a low cost fix for this?
Help please!

have an upholstery shop sew a new window in. They will have to take the top off, but this is a LOT cheaper than a new top. Mine had a new window sewn in it when I bought it, and I like it better than the original windows. I am not sure but i want to say it was around $200? maybe? not sure why that is the # in my head...

I had the same problem earlier. If you get only the plastic window and ask a upholstery shop to sew it, it will be $500 as TroyN said. If you replace the whole top with a glass-window and rear defogging wires, it will cost you ~$1800. Both the charges here include the labor. I did the glass one. I am very happy with what I did.

Thanks for the info.
However, I found a place I trust that will do it for $300.
Unfortunately, I will not have this Boxter for too much longer, so I was looking to spend the least.
Thanks for all the help!

I saw a 968 cab that had a new rear window installed. Ths shop had left the old plastic in, sewed the new one on the inside and then trimmed the old one out. It appeared to be a cheap repair. The owner was very proud of the end result. In my mind it looked like S#$%^T and I would question the watertightness, but he was very happy.
