I did it to my 2003S. Save your money would be my advice. Wish I'd read more on these Forums before spending the money.

I dont have it, but Ive driven one with GIAC flash and evo intake and headers back to back with mine (when it was stock)... the GIAC car was noticably faster... both were 01 986S's though

How much of that difference was to the flash? I'd suspect most of it was due to the free flowing exhaust.

I'd suspect even more of it was perceived due to the noise increase rather than being noticeably faster

It's not worth the money for a normally aspirated car. Turbo's get the big benefit from ECU upgrades.

Well my car at the time was desnorkled and had a GHL... so I don't think sound was the thing... seriously it was noticeably quicker

People with dynos consistently show headers provide the most significant gains, so I would say that accounted for the majority of the difference. Also, differences in weight can be significant (options, driver's weight, gas, etc.). For example, the difference between a full and empty tank of gas is almost 10HP equivalent on my Boxster S. I know my car got "statistically" faster after I put it on a diet. Now, I just need to work on myself
