problems since crash!!!!!!!!!
Hi all.
I have a 98 boxster 2.5 with 90k.
3 weeks ago i hit black ice and crashed, damaging the bumper and left rad.
on fitting the new parts the heater didnt work and the car over heated,it was picked up and brought to a recognised mechanic.
he did a service and bled the rads, and put coolent through the system, all was well.
on the drive home after about 30mins the car started to over heat, then black smock followed,i switched off and it was picked up again..........ANY ideas would be welcome!!!!!!

How badly did it overheat? Overheating can lead to a blown head-gasket. Once you see that needle head past 180 always be ready to switch off the engine.
I'm not familiar with the plumbing on the boxster but you may have 1) Bent one of the coolant pipes to or from the left radiator and it's not flowing properly 2) Broken the fan on the car and no one's noticed it 3) many other things (helpful I know). I'd check out 1 & 2 and if they clear begin to move toward other items. Wiring to the fan may have been damaged. The system may not have been bled properly either time. There could be some debris from the damaged radiator down stream stuck in the line. Ect...

hi guys
it looks like some debris did find its way in2 the system from the crash!!!
and this would have been enough to block a pipe a little and cause it to over heat.
hopefully this will be the end of it now,as the car has been off the road for a month.
Thanks again for all your help.
