Default MPH to KM/H problem on 2000 Boxster

My 2000 Boxster suddenly displays speedometer and odometer in KM/H rather than MPH. I took it to the local Porsche dealership, and they fixed it in 3 seconds. I asked what they did, and I was told that by turning the odometer reset knob to the left for 3 seconds, without pushing in, changes between MPH and KM/H.

The next morning when I started up the car, it was back to KM/H again... I tried the procedure given by the dealership, but it didn't work. No matter what I do with the odometer reset knob, it still shows KM/H.

Anyone out there with the same problem? How can it be fixed?

Try it longer than 3 seconds. Sometimes it's a bit slow.

I have tried for 5, 10, 20 and 30 seconds, left and right, with and without pushing the knob in, but it still shows KM/H and not MPH. Is there a combination of buttons or knobs that should be twisted or pushed?

It's not the odometer button, it's the clock button. Do not push in, just turn counter clock wise for about 5 seconds.

Yes, it is the CLOCK button as I just screwed mine up when adjusting for daylight savings time. Manual says 5 seconds should do it.

Thanks guys, I figured out myself... Is there a similar way of changing between deg.F and deg.C on the AC system?

To change the readout on the a/c unit, hold down the re-circulating air button and then press the up and down button to toggle between F and C.
