Another 18" rim question

Burning Brakes
My '01S came with 17" wheels.
The early Boxsters had some severe problems when run on the track with larger diameter wheels. Porsche made the structural changes because they knew owners would like the car to hold together <grin>.
That said, there are '97s running around on the street with 18"s.

I have the winter set on now that are 17`s and I like the ride. My 18 are Goodrich TA and the`re noisy. The rear are a bit camber scalloped which makes even more noisy.Fronts are good so I may replace the rears next spring. I`ve only had the car since spring so I`m on a bit of a earning curve with it.

Its true the first years until '99 Porsche gave a negative advice for 18+ rims
BUT, with normal driving style the Porsche specialist convinced me that 18 inch will not raise any problem.
And yes its all about the weight of the total package.
I bought 18 inch and never regretted!
Good luck!
