Default 986 Boxster Top doesn't go down, windows don't lower when latch released

The previous owner installed a module that allows the top to lower while driving, so I believe a bypass of the e-brake switch must have been installed. Regardless the e-brake light comes on when pulled so that probably isn't the issue. No noise, no nothing when pulling the latch- could this be a microswitch issue?

When you put the park break on is the light on the dash indicating the park break has been applied illuminated - If not the microswitch in your park break assembly is either unplugged or failed.

If it's SmartTOP you might check that the top module is seated correctly:

Otherwise, check the microswitch in the top latch seat at the windshield frame. It may be stuck.
