Default CGT insurance rates from Sneed?

Anyone have any experience with Sneed Insurance Agency out of Memphis? Their monthly ad in Panorama shows a $600 premium for 6 months for a 2005 CGT with an agreed upon value of $380,000.

My rates are waaaaaaaay higher than that and the actual quote I got from Sneed was waaaaaaaaay lower than even in their ad. The insurance provider is Safeco.

Sounds too good to be true and you know what they say about that......

Any input? Thanks in advance.

I tried to get a qoute from them but when I gave them all my cars to get a complete qoute they never got back to me. Sounds too good to be true, but keep us informed if you get a good deal. I'm with Hagerty Ins. now and can't find anything cheaper/better.

Thanks, DM. I'm currently with Hagerty also. I'll keep you posted.

I got a quote for my car and it was half of my current premium. Didn't switch because they wanted my other cars and I didn't want to pull my insurance from my current guy who always is a big help when I need something.

Did you feel they are legit? Would you have switched if it weren't for your other cars?

Do not use them. They are very unprofessional, even when you are just getting a quote, can't imagine when you have and actual claim. They were very rude to me. I will stay with Hagerty.

Some insurers quote incorrectly because they are using a VIN decoding program that thinks a Carrera GT is a Boxster. They quote the Boxster price without knowing what's really going on. If one has a claim, I wonder if the carrier is going to pay more for the mis-rated Carrera GT than a totaled Boxster is worth?

Beware!

Also insurance varies by state. In Virginia, for example, all insurers have 60 days after inception to underwrite new business. It is not uncommon to get a quote for one rate and then have that rate increase within that 60 day period. My agency always has the MVR and Auto information complete before we release a new business auto policy. As such, we know our pricing is correct from the beginning.

Interesting that this thread came back up. I just got a quote yesterday from them that is TOTALLY different than the first quote I referred to in the original post and is exponentially higher than their Pano ad.

I think Mike is right about the confusion between a Boxster and CGT except that both times they quoted me, they identify the cgt as a "2005 Porsche 911 GT2". Regardless, since their quote is now way higher than my renewal with Hagerty will be, I'll stick with Hagerty.

Sounds like they are playing fast and loose with mentioning an agreed upon value if they are playing the VIN/Boxster game......run away

i'm new to cars is there a difference between a boxster and a cgt?

j/k..... Be careful on most Insurance companies and stick with the one you are comfortable with. My insurance agent is well aware of all of my cars and even has his Adjuster set an agreed value to all of my high end cars. I'm not happy with my CGT insurance amount it's higher than any of my Ferrari's from them but such is life. No way will they stay with you at that $600 rate and insure it properly. It can't be done. Would a $35k Acura be $50 bucks every 6 months through them as well?
